Poland: Current fruit prices on the wholesale market in Łódź – Zjazdowa, October 5, 2023

One of our Readers is currently selling apples at the Zjazdowa wholesale market in Łódź. Trade there is governed by slightly different laws than in similar facilities in the country. What are the current prices? Generally, high-quality apples are valued by fruit growers at PLN 35 per box (PLN 2.33/kg). However, transactions are most often concluded for PLN 30 (PLN 2.00/kg), especially when we are talking about slightly larger quantities. Apples with smaller diameters have recently cost PLN 25 per box (PLN 1.66/kg). It is worth noting here that these prices do not depend on the variety. While on the market in Bronisze you can get slightly higher prices for Lobo or Cortland, we do not observe this phenomenon during the season. Currently, buyers are more willing to reach for and ask only about summer varieties. Last week, the last batches of Paulared and Delikates reached rates of almost PLN 50 per box (PLN 3.33/kg).
