The Department of Agriculture in the Philippines is helping to prevent food wastage and support farmers by facilitating the sale of over 160 tons of highland vegetables in January. The vegetables, procured by national government offices, are being sold through the Kadiwa Veggie Connect and other market linkage programs. This initiative is set to benefit 93 farmers from the provinces of Mt. Province, Benguet, and Ifugao, while also providing consumers with access to more affordable food.
