Demand for asparagus beans among Ukrainians is growing from year to year

This year, asparagus beans were planted in Organic Expert LLC (TM "OSO") - about 0.4 hectares, while last year it was almost a hectare, and the year before last - 3 hectares of this crop. But this is due solely to crop rotation. The co-owner of the company Yulia Voroshchuk told about it, AgroPortal reports. Since the farm grows organic vegetables, asparagus beans are grown here by hand, and this affects the planting density (for mechanized harvesting, combine, the density may be higher), and the cost of production, and yield per hectare. “Special varieties are grown for harvesting with a combine harvester. They are used for blanching, slicing and further freezing. We plant varieties for sale on the fresh market: they grow gradually, yield in a few weeks. It is as convenient as possible for manual harvesting, ”explains the farmer.
