Vietnam's sugar industry is struggling with a lack of autonomy in raw material areas and a shortage of sugarcane supply, resulting in an inability to meet the growing domestic demand for sugar in the food and beverage processing sector. The sugarcane planting area has significantly decreased compared to previous years due to a shift in crop choices by farmers.
