Vietnam's seafood exports have seen significant growth, with shrimp, pangasius, tuna, and other marine fish experiencing double-digit or triple-digit increases, except for squid and octopus which declined by 15% in August. Shrimp exports reached $2.4 billion in the first eight months, with whiteleg shrimp at $1.75 billion and black tiger shrimp at $290 million. Pangasius exports totaled $1.3 billion, with a 23% increase to the U.S. and a 3% decrease to China. VASEP forecasts total seafood exports to hit $9.4-9.5 billion this year, a 6% rise from 2023.
