Denizli's hazelnut exports increased by 12 percent in Turkey

Turkey is by far the leader in hazelnut production and export in the world. In 2023, exports worth 1.9 billion dollars were made from the sector across the country. While 85 percent of hazelnut production in Turkey is realized by the provinces in the Black Sea Region, DENİB President Hüseyin Memişoğlu evaluated the export of 8.3 million from Denizli, where the production is approximately 20 tons annually, as a success. Stating that Denizli's agricultural sector has an important place in exports for Turkey, Denizli Exporters Association (DENİB) President Memişoğlu said, “Denizli province has an important place in agricultural sector exports for our country. According to 2022 data, 20 tons of hazelnuts were produced in our city. However, approximately 1,300 tons were exported.
