(Daejeon=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Jun-ho = Park Eun-sik (55), Director of Forest Industry Policy, has been appointed as the new Deputy Director of the Korea Forest Service.
According to the Korea Forest Service on the 17th, the new Deputy Director Park Eun-sik joined the agency in 2001 through the 36th technical examination and has held major key positions for 24 years, including International Forestry Cooperation Officer, Planning and Finance Officer, Forest Environment Protection Division Chief, Forest Policy Division Chief, and Forest Resources Division Chief.
The Korea Forest Service explained that he is highly evaluated for his deep insight into forest policy and excellent planning ability. He is also known for his outstanding organizational management skills, having been selected as the best boss and leader employees want to emulate.
As Director of Forest Industry Policy, he has been working on establishing national policy tasks in the forestry sector to support the era of national sovereignty and measures to increase the utilization rate of forests to revitalize the forestry economy. As International Forestry Cooperation Officer, he successfully hosted the World Forestry Congress (WFC), the largest international conference in the forestry sector.
Deputy Director Park said, "In the future, I will promote the transition from the 'era of trees' to the 'era of wood' and from the 'era of afforestation' to the 'era of management'" and "I will make efforts to realize 'forests that save people' by thoroughly preparing for forest disasters."
