In 2023, Belgium's potato harvest is projected at 4.0 million tonnes, encompassing main, early, and seed potatoes, despite 400,000 tonnes left unharvested due to wet conditions. This marks a 444,000-tonne increase from 2022, driven by a larger cultivation area and higher yields, with storage potatoes producing 42.8 tonnes per hectare. Although extreme rainfall and frost initially dampened high yield expectations, the final harvest still surpassed the previous year's by 12.4 percent.
