The Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services has developed three new varieties of indigenous sesame wheat, 'Gwansil', 'Danya', and 'Deulchan', which are now under varietal protection. These varieties were selected from the native sesame wheat cultivated in Jinju-si and Goseong-gun since 2014. They are short, resistant to falling, and have high disease and pest resistance, making cultivation easy. These new varieties are expected to provide stable production and quality assurance, unlike the native 'Jangseongki wheat'. These developments aim to increase farm income and contribute to the development of local agriculture.
