The article provides an analysis of the global and national raspberry industry by Antonio Domínguez, director of Chilealimentos and president of the International Raspberry Organization (IRO). In the 2023-2024 campaign, global raspberry production reached 852,000 tons, with Mexico as the top producer at 279,000 tons, and Chile producing 16,083 tons, surpassing the UK and Australia. The industry faces challenges such as pest control, mechanical harvesting, food safety, and labor shortages. Domínguez highlights the importance of developing new varieties, improving yields, and obtaining Global GAP Certification for farmers.
