A partnership between the National Institute of Animal Science, Rural Development Administration, and the Korea Racing Authority plans to distribute Domestic Italian ryegrass hot air hay in South Korea starting next year. This home-grown hay, dried using hot air and with a moisture content of 30-50%, then reduced to less than 20% indoors, is expected to be priced at KRW 437 per kg and could cost 22-37% less than imported hay. A three-phase plan aims at establishing a distribution system, starting with a pilot supply to horse farms in Jeonbuk and Gyeongbuk in 2025-2026, followed by the establishment of processing and distribution centers in 2026-2027 and 2029-2030 to expand the supply chain nationwide.
