After seven months since the first case of avian influenza in Argentina, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa have agreed to resume imports of chickens and eggs from Argentina, which restored its health status as a disease-free country on August 8. The Secretary of Agriculture stated that this achievement is part of Argentina's strategy to regain its position as a global supplier of poultry products. However, negotiations included requirements such as modifying the health certificate to state that the entire Argentine territory is free of avian influenza.
