Wushan county in Chongqing, China, is using drones and chartered flights to transport Wushan crispy plums across the country, ensuring their freshness within 24 hours. The new transportation method involves drones carrying the plums from remote farms to the local airport, and chartered flights taking them to Nanjing for distribution to about 1,000 cities. This initiative is part of a collaboration between the local government and China Post to address transportation challenges and benefits over 60,000 local households. The new method, which reduces transportation time and costs, is expected to be expanded to other local special products.
