Dumping 2 million fish fry into the Nile River in Damietta, Egypt

The Lakes and Fisheries Protection and Development Authority has dumped tilapia fry in several areas of the Nile River. This step aims to enhance the fish stock in the river and improve the environmental conditions of the Nile River, which contributes to supporting food security and achieving sustainable development. Based on the directives of Major General Hussein Farahat, Executive Director of the Lakes and Fish Resources Protection and Development Authority, 2 million tilapia and grass carp fry were landed from the Manzala and San Al-Hajar hatcheries, downstream of the Nile River in the Fariskur, Sherbas and Al-Surour centers in Damietta Governorate, over a period of three days.
