Due to dry weather conditions, durian production in eastern Thailand is expected to drop by over 50% in 2024, despite an increase in the total durian planting area. This has led to a surge in prices and advance ordering agreements. To ensure quality, the Agricultural Extension Department of Trat Province is offering free 'pre-inspection' services for durians. The durian season in Trat runs from March to July, with strict quality and safety standards enforced. If inferior quality durians are found being sold, the public can lodge complaints to local police stations and other departments.
