[Fisheries News=Fisheries News] Due to global warming, sea temperatures are increasingly rising, pushing coastal fisheries into crisis. Moreover, the rate of sea temperature increase in our country's coastal waters is about twice the global average, making the problem even more severe. Recently, the damage from high sea temperatures has been reported to be worsening. According to the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute, the cumulative damage from fisheries disasters between 2011 and 2024 amounted to 476.4 billion won, with high sea temperature damage reaching a staggering 347.2 billion won. Particularly, last year's prolonged heatwave and high sea temperature phenomenon caused losses amounting to 143 billion won in aquaculture, which is three times the amount of the previous year.
