Egypt, Italy sign EU-backed protocol to boost food security, wheat storage

The agreement also includes upgrading the ministry’s digital system to enable real-time tracking of national wheat stocks, improving data accuracy, monitoring efficiency, and supporting strategic planning. The planned projects aim to strengthen storage efficiency, reduce post-harvest losses, and enhance government oversight of the supply chain. “The agreement reflects Egypt’s clear vision to modernize its food storage and supply systems,” the Ministry said in a statement, noting the EU and Italian commitment to supporting sustainable development and expanding partnerships in the sector.
