The USDA-Foreign Agricultural Service in Cairo forecasts a rise in Egypt's fresh orange exports in the 2020/21 marketing year to 1.5 million metric tons, up from 1.37 million in the previous year, due to increased production and favorable weather conditions. The top export destinations are expected to remain Saudi Arabia, Russia, the Netherlands, China, and the United Arab Emirates, with recent additions including New Zealand, Japan, and Brazil. The orange export season began on December 1, 2020, and is expected to follow the usual order of shipments to the Arabian Gulf, then Russia, Ukraine, the European Union, and East Asia.
