The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported that Mexico remains one of the main destinations for U.S. beef, despite the fact that local production of this protein continues to rise. In 2024, this country consolidated itself as the second largest buyer of U.S. beef by importing 232,488 tons, 10% more than in 2023, with a value of 1.3 billion dollars. According to estimates from the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), beef consumption in Mexico will grow by 4% by the end of this year, despite the inflationary behavior that these have presented. Projections for 2026 point to a cumulative increase of 7%, equivalent to 2.4 million tons.
