End of the investigation: Brazil will not apply dumping tariffs on Argentine powdered milk and industrialists breathe a sigh of relief

In mid-December last year, Bichos de Campo reported that Brazil had begun an investigation, considering that it had "sufficient elements that indicate the practice of dumping in the exports of powdered milk from Argentina and Uruguay to Brazil." This was a suspicion of undervaluation of the products entering that country. In Argentina, the companies that could have been affected by the measure of applying dumping tariffs were Mastellone Hnos., Noal SA, Gloria Argentina SA; and L3N SA (Adecoagro). On the Uruguayan side, those affected in the investigation were Conaprole, Estancias del Lago SRL; and Alimentos Fray Bentos. Consultations were made with other exporters and importers, and even with those involved who could appeal the criteria set out by Brazil, however no companies producing powdered milk from that destination were presented.
