The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia announced that the country has achieved a self-sufficiency rate of 124% in dates, with an annual production of over 1.6 million tons. This growth is largely due to the expansion of palm cultivation across 165,000 hectares. The Riyadh region is the largest producer of dates, followed by Qassim, Madinah, and other regions. The Ministry's 'Harvest Season' campaign aims to increase awareness of local agricultural products, improve the local fruit marketing system, and support local farmers.
