The Dairy Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO) has greenlit the use of hemp for commercial, medical, research, and educational purposes, allowing farmers and organizations to apply for permits. The DPO is particularly interested in the hemp plant and its by-products for the production of certified seeds and as a value-added source for animal feed. A collaborative project with the Food and Drug Administration and other partners aims to explore the use of hemp in dairy cattle feed, with the ultimate goal of reducing the cost of milk production and enhancing the efficiency of domestic dairy farming.
