Ethanol sellers maintain firm stance on asking prices while buyers are staying away from the market

Anhydrous and hydrated ethanol prices have remained firm in the state of São Paulo for over a month, according to surveys by the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea). From November 17 to 21, the Cepea/Esalq Indicator for hydrated ethanol in São Paulo closed at R$ 2.8554/liter (net of ICMS and PIS/Cofins). This value represents a 1.13% increase compared to the previous period. For anhydrous ethanol, the Indicator closed at R$ 3.2434/liter, net of taxes (excluding PIS/Cofins), an increase of 1.05% in the same comparison. Researchers at Cepea indicate that the support continues to come mainly from the firm stance of the seller amid low product supply and the approaching end of the 2025/26 harvest.
