During this period, the EU enjoyed an agri-food trade surplus of 56.2 billion euros, an increase of 2% compared to the corresponding months of 2019, according to the latest monthly report from the EC on agri-food trade published this Friday. China remained the main growth destination for EU agri-food exports, with demand for pork, wheat and infant foods contributing to a € 3.71 billion increase in the total value of exports. A wide range of products drove a € 600 million increase in the value of EU agri-food exports to Switzerland. Cereals and dairy products led a growth in the value of exports to the Middle East and North Africa region, especially in the cases of Saudi Arabia (an increase of € 577 million), Algeria (a jump of € 444 million ) and Morocco (412 million euros).
