EU grain exports down 30 percent compared to last season

From the beginning of the current agricultural season, which began on July 1, to December 15, the member states of the European Union as a whole exported 15.5 million tonnes of grain and its processed products, which is 30% less than the quantities in the same period last season, according to data from the European Commission. The largest exporter of grain from the EU during the period was Romania with 2.956 million tonnes of common wheat, 1.273 million tonnes of barley and 419,800 tonnes in total of other cereals. The decline in exports of common wheat from the EU has stabilized, with a decrease of 31% during the period to 10.536 million tonnes. Six weeks ago, the gap was 32%. In the case of common wheat flour, deliveries to third countries decreased by 24% to 168,975 tonnes.
