The Copa-Cogeca report forecasts a 3.5% decrease in the total area dedicated to cereal production in the EU in 2024, amounting to 48,568.6 thousand hectares. This reduction is anticipated to influence most major crops, with the exception of rye and oats, which are expected to see increases. The total EU cereal production is projected to decrease by 4.7% in 2024, largely due to a drop in planted area and yields of various crops. Specifically, milling wheat and durum wheat areas are expected to see significant decreases, while corn, rye, and oats are expected to see increases.
