In the first half of 2022, the European Union witnessed a decrease in its citrus imports compared to the previous year, with the exception of lemons. The report reveals that mandarins were the most favored citrus fruit, contributing to 41% of the total imports. Oranges came in second, accounting for 35.4%. The largest imports were recorded in December, with a total of 5,546 tons. South Africa emerged as the leading exporter, contributing 32.8% of the total imports, followed by Egypt, Morocco, and Zimbabwe.
