The European Union's crop monitoring service, MARS, has revised its 2024 yield forecast for nearly all crops down due to unfavorable weather conditions during field work. The region has seen excess moisture in the soil, negatively impacting crop development. The average sugar beet yield forecast for 2024 has been reduced to 74.4 t/ha from 75.4 t/ha estimated in May, but still surpasses the five-year average of 73.2 t/ha. Sugar beet yield forecasts have been adjusted downwards in France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and Romania.
