EU sparkling wine production and exports to decline in 2023

In 2023, the EU produced 1.496 billion litres of sparkling wine, which is a drop of 8% compared to 2022, according to data published by Eurostat. The main producing countries were Italy (638 million litres), France (312 million) and Germany (263 million), followed by Spain (206 million litres) and Portugal (25 million litres).
