The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety of the European Parliament adopted its position ahead of the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference – COP30. With 57 votes in favor, 23 against, and 4 abstentions, MEPs emphasized that the European Union must maintain its leading role in global climate negotiations and call on all countries to take their fair share of climate efforts and financing. How clear is the "clear horizon by 2040"? MEPs insist that the EU's climate policy should remain ambitious and based on scientific data, in line with the European Climate Law.
