The Brazilian government has received authorization from the European Union to export live horses, a move welcomed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) due to the economic significance of the European Union as a market for Brazilian agricultural products. In the first half of 2024, exports to the European Union totaled US$ 11.05 billion. This development is part of a broader strategy by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to expand the global reach of Brazilian products, with 90 new market openings achieved in 2024 and 168 new opportunities registered since 2023 in 56 countries.
