This regulation marks a departure from the past, where member countries regulated seed industry requirements nationally, by providing a unified approach through a direct regulation. The regulation encompasses field plants, vegetable plants, and fruit and grape propagation materials, aiming to align with the Green Agreement's objectives and covering aspects like preserved varieties, heterogeneous materials, and voluntary seed exchange. Additionally, the article discusses the domestic seed market, providing insights into the seed availability for the spring season and the shifting trends towards sunflowers, soy, and sorghum, alongside challenges such as germination issues and toxic situations impacting crop choices.
