Following a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture with representatives of the Dobrudzha Fruit Growers Union, the Danube Fruit Growers Union, the National Gardeners Union, and the Bulgarian Fruit Growers Association, it became clear that support rates for farmers with failed cherry, sour cherry, and apricot areas are expected to be announced. The good news – the aid will be paid out in stages after applications are accepted. "The best news is that they are starting phased payments after accepting applications. A commission has been formed to sift through gardens that are not in good agro-ecological condition, which is practically correct and good," Dimitrichka Tarpanova, deputy chairperson of the Dobrudzha Fruit Growers Union, commented for Agri.BG. And she clarified: "The Ministry of Agriculture specified that the declared areas with cherries, sour cherries, and apricots, which will be paid as the first group of crops, are 7,689 hectares."
