Today (15) IBGE launches the Ecosystem Accounts: Non-Timber Forest Products, experimental statistics with studies on the physical and monetary evolution of production in each biome in the country, between 2006 and 2016. The publication has two sections with its own methodologies, one which analyzes non-timber forest production by biome and another that estimates the valuation of the service providing these products.

These statistics make up the System of Environmental Economic Accounts, which follows the recommendations of the United Nations (UN), in promoting the integration of information between the economy and the environment. The studies and their results are classified as experimental as they are in the testing and evaluation phase. Its publication intends to include society in the process of developing these indicators, from the initial stages. The survey cataloged the physical and monetary provision of the 10 products extracted and grown with the greatest economic expression, by biome, from 2006 and 2016. They are: açaí (extracted and planted), coagulated latex (extracted and planted), yerba mate (extracted and planted), heart of palm (extracted and planted), Brazil nut, pequi (fruit and almond), babassu, carnauba (wax and powder), jaborandi and piassava.
