Tariff rates on the export of wheat, barley, and corn from the Russian Federation will be zero from December 10, reports the Ministry of Agriculture. The tariff rate on wheat exports will be reduced to zero from 8.9 rubles per tonne the previous week. The tariffs on the export of barley and corn had already been zero. The rates were calculated based on indicative prices: $226.1 per tonne for wheat ($227.3 for the previous period), $213.6 for barley ($210.8), and $208.5 for corn ($211.8). The new rates will be in effect until December 16 inclusive. The Russian Federation introduced the grain buffer mechanism on June 2, 2021. It provides for floating tariffs on the export of wheat, corn, and barley and the return of funds received from them to subsidize agricultural producers.
