Paraná's exports of essential commodities like soybeans, raw sugar, oils and fuels, electric generators and transformers, and processed chicken meat have reached historic highs in the first seven months of 2024, as reported by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (MDIC) and the Paraná Institute for Economic and Social Development (Ipardes). The state has exported a total of US$ 13.6 billion. Soybean exports alone brought in US$ 3.5 billion, a 4.6% increase from the previous year, and account for 25% of Paraná's exports. Raw sugar exports also saw a significant increase of 41% compared to the same period in 2023. There was also a record high in exports of oils and fuels, electric equipment, and processed chicken meat. Paraná's trade balance remains positive, with a difference of US$ 2.7 billion between purchases and sales.
