External market sustains the rise in cattle prices in Mato Grosso

The price of the arroba of fat cattle in Mato Grosso registered a new high in the month of July, according to the weekly analysis of the Mato-Grossense Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), released this Monday (4). The value of the arroba at term reached R$ 298.07, which represents an increase of 43.09% compared to the same period in 2024. With this performance, the indicator completed 12 consecutive months of appreciation in the annual comparison. According to Imea, the upward movement was sustained by the firm demand for beef in the external market, accompanied by a lower volume of females in the slaughter. The institute highlights that this reduction is associated with the transition of the cattle cycle, which, added to the growth of exports, directly influenced the appreciation of the arroba in the state.
