The Animal and Plant Inspection and Quarantine Service of the Ministry of Agriculture discovered 3 sheep that tested positive for brucellosis at a dairy sheep farm in Jiuru Township, Pingtung County, and the confirmed sheep have been culled. The farm has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, and the remaining animals are being regularly tested and monitored for the disease. To prevent the spread of brucellosis, domestic dairy cow and dairy sheep farms are required to undergo regular testing and screening every year, and must also ensure on-site biosecurity and regular cleaning and disinfection.
