Moldovan apple producers are seeking new markets due to the Russian war and embargo, finding success in the Arab countries, India, and Egypt. Since November, exports to the Persian Gulf have increased, but logistical issues from the war have slowed large shipments. The country is also in the process of obtaining permission to export to India, but it's a lengthy and costly process. Additionally, negotiations with Egypt are underway for duty-free export of apples. Despite these efforts, apple production in Moldova has decreased by 50% this year compared to 2021.
