REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The President Director (PD) of Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, said that the massive flooding in several rice-producing areas is expected to impact the production forecast for the 2026 season. He conveyed this in response to the damage to rice fields in West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh due to natural disasters. Rizal assessed that the high water levels in agricultural areas could disrupt the planting patterns of farmers who are preparing for the upcoming harvest. The disaster also poses further risks to the readiness of production facilities that require restoration. "Because the flooding is so massive and extraordinary, many farmers' rice fields are submerged by quite high water.
