Flower shop busy on Teachers' Day: Potted flowers are preferred over bouquets

In Adana, ahead of Teachers' Day on November 24, florists have seen activity pick up, with potted flowers being preferred over cut flowers this year. Just like across the country, in Adana, the demand for flowers has started to increase due to Teachers' Day. This year, seasonal potted plants, which are sold between 200 and 800 TL, have seen more demand than bouquet flowers. Those producing flowers in the district of Kozan said they are trying to meet the demand. Ömer Çeri, who produces flowers, pointed out that while bouquet and cut flowers usually see heavy demand on special occasions, interest in permanent potted plants has increased in recent years. Çeri said, "Due to Teachers' Day, citizens are now preferring longer-lasting balcony and room flowers. Seasonal flowers like chrysanthemums, amaryllis, and prayer plants are in high demand.
