The Chamber of Food Industries in Egypt has refuted allegations by the National Food Safety Authority regarding the use of coating materials in the cheese industry, stating they are false and could damage the industry's reputation and investment climate. The authority clarified that a product seized from a cheese factory was not cheese but a solid form of sheep's milk product used in desert areas. The Chamber of Food Industries is calling for those responsible for the food safety allegations to be held accountable and is working with the authority to ensure food safety and quality. The food industries sector is a significant contributor to Egypt's economy, accounting for 24.5% of the GDP and providing 7 million job opportunities.
