Norway's seafood exports, particularly salmon, have seen a double-digit decrease in November due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with the hotel and restaurant sector shutdown in Europe impacting demand. Despite a slight decrease in volume, the value of salmon exports fell by 15 percent in November, with Poland, France, and Denmark being the largest markets. The mackerel sector has been the bright spot, seeing a increase in volume and value due to increased consumer demand and a higher quota. The shellfish sector also experienced increased demand for king crab from the United States and Europe. For the 11-month period from January to November 2020, Norway's seafood exports generated revenue of NOK 96.6 billion, a 1 percent decrease from the previous year.
