Spring drought is a traditional challenge for farmers in Southern Ukraine. However, this year the situation has become particularly critical: over 100 days without any productive rainfall. Such prolonged absence of precipitation has forced farmers to significantly change their crop rotations, cultivation technologies, and approach to moisture conservation. In a comment for SuperAgronom.com, Oleksandr Kotyhora, the manager for the development of agricultural technologies in the Southern region of LNZ Group, said: "According to local farms, the southern regions of Ukraine experienced over three months of complete drought during the spring-summer period this year. The moisture from the upper soil layers has practically disappeared, which made normal vegetation development impossible for most crops," he noted.
