France – wine exports – data first 9 months 2024

We are approaching the end of the year, but almost as a joke, in these weeks the data on September exports are being published, which are quite important. Today, while waiting to process the ISTAT tables for Italy, let's take a look at what is happening in France with the DISAR data. As you know, the context for French exports has been very negative in 2024. Let's say that these data show a gradual stabilization but no real recovery. The summer evolution saw a very positive July (+11%), an irrelevant August down 8% and a stable figure in September (+2%). All in, we had commented on the half-yearly data at -9.7% in value and -2.6% in volume, adding this quarter that closed at +2.5/3% in value and volume we arrive at a smoothed drop of 6% in value and (8.4 billion euros) and a near breakeven (-1%) for the volume (9.5 million hectoliters).
