French cereal exports are expected to recover in 2025/26

The expert council "Main Crops - Grain Markets" of FranceAgriMer, which met on July 16 under the chairmanship of Benoît Piétrement, presented positive prospects for French grain exports for the 2025/26 campaign. Thanks to the forecast of a high-quality and high-quantity soft wheat harvest, exports to third countries could reach 7.5 million tons, according to initial forecasts. At the end of the 2024/25 campaign, French soft wheat exports saw a sudden increase, with sales to Egypt, Senegal, and Ivory Coast. The forecasts were revised upwards to 3.5 million tons, 250,000 tons more than the June estimate. Exports to the European Union are projected at around 6.8 million tons, mainly to the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal. Corn also performs well, with intra-European sales reaching approximately 4.5 million tons.
