Peruvian fresh ginger exports grow 62% in volume in the first two months of this year

(Agraria.pe) In the first two months of the year, exports of fresh ginger (kion) by Peru reached 10,014,768 kilos, showing an increase of 62% compared to the 6,184,266 kilos shipped in the same period of 2021 . This was stated by the president of the consulting firm Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz Benavides, who explained that, in January and February of this year, shipments of the aforementioned product amounted to 4,144,520 kilos and 5,870,248 kilos, respectively (in January and February 2021 reached 2,413,940 kilos and 3,770,326 kilos). He added that so far in March 2022 (as of the 21st), our country has shipped 2,142,212 kilos of fresh ginger and it is expected to close this month with more than 3,000,000 kilos exported, when in March last year 2,638,817 kilos.
