Recent frosts in Nuevo León, Mexico, have caused significant damage to the winter production of chili, green tomato, and zucchini, with an estimated 95% total loss for these crops. Only cabbages and coriander have escaped unscathed, with signs of damage and dehydration found in the other vegetables. The affected area covers approximately 450 hectares, which is 95% of the winter planting. The state Ministry of Agricultural Development (Sedagro) is conducting studies on the extent of the damage.
