Fruit and vegetable price trends in Italy as of October 9th

The Italian pumpkin campaign comes to life, with its different varieties such as Butternut, long violina, Moscata. The national persimmon campaign is proceeding smoothly, with the start of the sale of the Vaniglia della Campania variety. The hot climate damages some productions, from chestnuts which show a collapse in prices, to courgettes. The new production of branded mountain apples is underway, while the production of the last harvest has completely ended. The demand for white grapes is always high. The latest varieties of Italian plums, October Sun, President and Angeleno, are on the market. Thanks to the agreement with the Borsa Merci Telematica Italiana (Bmti) and Italmercati we are publishing the survey of fruit and vegetable prices at the wholesale markets as of 9 October 2023.
