Brazil: Fruit market in Curitiba records increases of up to 300% in 2024

Data from the Agricultural Situation Bulletin, prepared by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral) of the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), reveal that the fruit market in Curitiba presents significant variations in the prices of the main varieties. The research indicates that the supply of products from Paraná orchards is limited, resulting in considerable dependence on other regions of Brazil to meet local demand. Fruit prices are largely influenced by factors such as seasonality, climate conditions, incidence of pests and diseases, in addition to freight costs, which impact fluctuations in prices at the Paraná Supply Centers (Ceasa/PR).
